(Junior) Security Evaluator of Smart Card Operating Systems and applications

Brightsight is a evaluation lab for ICT security. We perform all kinds of
evaluation projects for our customers. Most of our colleagues has various
technical backgrounds. The atmosphere is open, ambitious and international.
More than 85% of our customers are outside of the Netherlands en more than
50% of them are outside of Europe, mostly in Asia. Our colleagues often have
opportunities to travel to different destinations. Brightsight is growing
continuously and is constantly looking for new talent. At this moment we are
looking for (junior) evaluators for smard card products with a 'hackers
mentality'.

Our work

Brightsight evaluates the security of e.g. Integrated Circuits, smart card
operating systems and applications: thus a combination of hardware and
software. We make a judgment about their security based on formal and
informal methodologies. We work with international financial companies such
as MasterCard and VISA, governments and the developers. Besides performing
evaluations we also provide support to our customers in understanding the ICT
security requirements and evaluations.

Our function

Our evaluators are educated in performing evaluations with an "on the job"
approach. You will be able to learn different evaluation techniques like code
review, side-channel analysis and other smart card attacks. Also you will
learn about the methodology how the security of products is judged and how to
report the results. You will work in small project teams. There are many
variations in our jobs: analytical work, experimental work, consultancy and
participating in international working groups. You must have a hacker
mentality with all round good English language skills to function and grow in
our organization.

Job requirements

We are looking for both junior and experienced people with a technical
background (HBO/WO, Bachelor/Master/PhD). For experienced people we welcome
in particular knowledge of JavaCard/Global Platform.
