1930’s Forming TNO, the Netherlands organisation for applied scientific
research, by the Dutch government to act as an intermediate
research and development institute between government, universities
and industry

1980 Starting security evaluation activities within
the TNO unit EIB (evaluation centre for security techniques)

Developing the capability of performing Common Criteria evaluations
- 2002 Spinning
off the Common Criteria division in a private company (TNO
ITSEF BV), owned by TNO
- 2004 Merging of the EIB and Common Criteria
activities to operate under the name of TNO ITSEF BV
- 2006 Changing
the company’s name to Brightsight
- 2007 Forming Joint Ventures Brightsight
Asia in Korea and BeSecure in Japan
- 2011 Establishing a subsidiary Brightsight Asia Pacific in Singapore
